Welcome to Rainy Knob Ranch, breeders of full blood
and  percentage Lowline Angus Cattle. We are members of
the American Lowline Registry and Eastern Lowline Angus
Association.

We are excited about the future of Lowline Cattle especially
in this economic environment. High input costs are pushing
cattlemen to rethink their genetics and ranching practices.
Economic uncertainties and health safety concerns are
pushing consumers to consider verified food sources
closer to home. Lowline Angus can provide the answer for
the commercial industry as well as the small and hobby
farmer.

Lowlines are 100% Aberdeen Angus, are early maturing
and feed efficient. Crossed with larger breeds, their
genetics can quickly reduce frame size and improve  feed
efficiency. Smaller frames and feed efficiency mean more
cattle can be run per acre, thus more pounds of beef can be
harvested per acre. Commercial beef operations and
dairies are finding Lowline bulls bred to first time heifers
result in low birth weights for easy calving while not
compromising commercially viable calves for the beef
industry.

For the reasons noted above, Lowlines are perfect for the
farmer with smaller acreage and hobby farmers. In addition
they are docile, smaller size make handling easier and a
great fit with children.
